It is not a new rule. BBCE (broad based categorical eligibility) was introduced during the last recession, the administration would only be putting benefit eligibility back to the way was before the recession.

Good now they can go to work and prioritize their spending. I see too many people making half what I do and drive cars for 40k and have 1k phones. I spend what I can truly afford and not afford on a payment plan.

I might care more if snap coverage didn’t cover non essential food items. No one will go hungry just because they don’t get to buy a six pack of Coors or Budweiser.

How about investigating the FRAUD? Cards sold for cash, etc. Good at fast food joints. Liquor stores will sell you ANYTHING using food stamps. On & On
