Finally, NGOs with expertise in addressing humanitarian crises must be allowed – announced or unannounced – to access DHS facilities where children are processed or detained to ensure they are receiving medical treatment, food, and other appropriate care.

All of these reforms are crucial to drastically improving conditions for children in DHS facilities. I will not lift my holds until DHS meets these basic humanitarian standards at all CBP facilities.
