I heard from families who have no idea when they’ll be released. They’re scared. Some have open cases in immigration court, and some don’t. Our system is failing these families.

Last month, I placed holds on two DHS nominees until conditions in facilities like McAllen drastically improve to meet the standards DHS is obligated to uphold.
