They can. They just can’t go through the expensive and time consuming process of transitioning. If they have a medical requirement to do that they can get out and do that.

It is not a ban. Transgenders can serve as their biological sex. No hormones or surgery will be provided by military. It’s not the military’s job to provide elective surgery. Soldiers should be available at all times to perform their duties.
