You know what keeps our children, families, and communities safe? Citizens, armed with guns, ready to do violence on behalf of those who cannot or will not defend themselves. Guess what effect your piece of paper has on criminals...wait for the word ‘nothing’ to come to mind.
I applaud the House for passing a bill to expand background checks and hope Senate Leadership will give us a chance to vote on this package. I’ll continue to stand with the majority of Americans who support these reforms to keep our children, families, and communities safe.

And who was there "armed with a gun, ready to do violence" and succeeded on Oct 1?? After the trauma of this community and all over the country you're saying it's not even worth a shot to try background checks? Even of it helps save a single life, it's worth it

This will only stop a small percentage of people from buying a gun and it will affect law abiding gun owners more than criminals. You are no safer had it been a legal sale or not. It’s a choice to commit murder. It’s another smoke and mirrors feel good law by democrats.

Despite how left wing I am, im not a huge proponent of gun control. BUT multiple shootings were carried out by men with documented mental health issues. A background check will have no effect on law abiding citizens. But it will catch those few who aren’t criminals.. yet
