See if you can find out where physicist Taylor Wilson is with his design for a new nuclear reactor that actually uses the waste from the current ones as fuel for his. (He did a TED talk on it, but I've not heard anything since then. Just storing the crud is no solution.)
I’m heading to Yucca Mountain next week to make sure my colleagues hear Nevadans’ voices loud and clear. Home means Nevada and I will not allow our state to become the nation’s dumping ground for nuclear waste.

Yucca Mountain is already in a nuclear wasteland. We could theoretically kick barrels of waste into the Sudan Crater and it wouldn’t make a bit of difference. That area will never be developed into parks and neighborhoods. Take the waste and get something for it
