There’s a hunger crisis in this country, and Republicans in Congress are determined to make it worse. Their Farm Bill would cut billions of dollars from nutrition assistance programs families rely on to put food on the table.

When millions of children go to bed hungry each night and struggle to focus in schools because they haven’t had enough to eat, the last thing we should do is cut assistance. We should expand it.

I introduced the SNAP for KIDS Act to fight for the right of every child to have access to healthy food. We need to raise our voices: both to defeat the GOP Farm Bill and provide more support for kids and families who are counting on getting help when they need it.

This breed of GOP .. The Tea Party.. Freedom Caucus.. Evangelical.. they don’t care about the poor! Sad part is a lot of their Constituents are probably using SNAP.. their base votes against themselves!

It’s a necessary cut to help the rich people and corporations get back on their feet and feel better about themselves 😔. Thank you 🙏 mr president for making some Americans richer again 🤗

It's always the same polarizing argument: SNAP vs. Farm subsidies. Recent soybean tariffs make the subsidy increases necessary(queue conspiracy theories). Tired of one or the other politics. Maintain SNAP. Fix tariffs.

We the People need a LIVING WAGE! Americans have not kept up with inflation since the 1970's: Stop the Greed! An "adult" who works 40 hrs a week should be able to buy a home, afford food, medical care, child care, and save for the future! Adults should be making min. $21 an hour!

Exactly. WE would than SPEND it, not stuff it in an off shore account, but get things we NEED, like a home- education, a car? THAT would bloom the economy, anyone who feels otherwise is, if you pardon my french- an idiot.pic.twitter.com/PUeePkcLhu

You could donate your salary so they could eat. Maybe we could even find a way to get the economy going so their parents could work. Maybe we could get unemployment under 4 percent.

Unemployment isn't as big a problem as low pay. Most people who can work, do work. They just don't make enough money on which to live. Everyone who works full time deserves to be paid a living wage, which frankly, is far more than the $15/hr they're asking for in most areas.

As unemployment falls wages rise. Basic supply and demand. If you don't like the pay you are getting, get another job. On that pays more. I have done it a few times.

There’s a lot of fraud out there. Why won’t t YOU back a bill making able bodied adults have to work and/or get training for a job? Also curb welfare fraud that might be in certain communities in New York. @jhandsome23 @JohnFasoNy @NYGovCuomo

If there’s a hunger crisis and millions are going hungry, then why is there so much childhood obesity within the lower socioeconomic class?
