Teacher pay and per-pupil spending in Arizona are among the lowest in the nation. In Colorado, teacher pay is about $7,000 below the national average. Teachers are struggling to make ends meet, and students are without critical resources like current textbooks and supplies.

Teachers across the country are demanding better for our kids. Let’s stand with them in their fight for fair pay and better resources for students. To the teachers walking out today: We hear you. We stand with you.

Reading through the replies there is nothing about how school boards and administrators budget the money. This is where the real problem lies. #teacherwalkout

West Virginia, Arizona, and Colorado should give the teachers a pay raise and then change the school year to a full year. Only a week off at the fourth of July and a week off Christmas.

Before we increase teachers pay, let's increase education standards. We have the dumbest kids in the developed world. That doesn't make me feel that teachers deserve a raise.

First there shouldn't be state wide pay scales. Different areas have different costs of living. But why don't you show them what teachers in NYC, Westchester and Long Island get and NYS pension plan which is fully funded. Get what u pay for
