Thank you, Senator Gillibrand! Post Office Banking is a great solution to help millions of Americans Banks won't be hurt -- as they don't make $ on small accounts Almost completely forgotten, the U.S. had post office banking from 1911 - 1966.http://www.slate.com/articles/news_and_politics/history/2014/08/postal_banking_already_worked_in_the_usa_and_it_will_work_again.html …

So wait wait.... I see the pattern emerging. The DLC/Donor favorites of Kamala, Cory, Chuck, and yourself, all took a single Progressive policy to promote. That's kinda laughable really. It's simple, you will never get this NY'ers support until I see payback for Al Franken.
-
I’m with you Richard! This third-rate legislator destroyed a first-rate Senator for her own selfish political gain. This woman overreached. Al Frankin should run for Dem nomination and HILLibrand should be the first to PUBLICALLY support him!

And from Oregon.

@SenGillibrand While I agree with the spirit of the bill, I'd strongly urge you to look at companies like@creditfaire that are providing responsible alternative payday loan products to consumers.@creditfaire even met the proposed rules under the@BarackObama era CFPB.Thanks. access to credit is not a given right

I'm not sure it's credit that's the problem. I'm pretty sure one of the problems is people can't get a bank account without a hardcore address. So many homeless can't save money.

I don't always agree with liberal ideas but this is a good solution to helping the economy. Good job. And I am with you that only someone who is for predatory lending would vote no.

The post office is already insolvent, making them provide below market loans will be its end. It is one of the largest employers of African Americans and Veterans. Why do you hate African Americans and Veterans?

the banking industry is the only one where they can regulate themselves. Best lobbyists. They enforce laws that do not exist while referencing the "patriot act".. after it was pointed out no law is there as they thought the bank said oh well that is our policy even if no law.

@NYGovCuomo as HUD secretary bullied banks to start granting loans to people who normally didn’t qualify. Years later people defaulted on those loans triggering the Great Recession. Now you want postal service to grant loans like this. Terrible idea.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
