Does this mean that anyone who says they're transgender can't be drafted? Just wondering...

The draft ended 45 years ago
-
Every man must register for the draft at 18. If he says he's transgender, presumably, he can't be drafted should it be enacted again. The military has made it clear they will draft if they don't get enough volunteers.
-
They are registering for selective service and have been since 1973 when the draft ended. No one has been draftedsince 1973
-
Irrelevant. It can be reinstated at any time. Stay on topic.
-
Since it would need reinstating, the details of how it would work and who would be drafted have yet to be determined (if this ever happens). The answer to your original question would therefore be "That would depend on how the government chose to execute the draft".
-
The answer would be that transgender cannot be drafted since there is an order and policy in place that specifically ban them from serving.

How about join the military after you have your surgery? Or better yet have your surgery after you serve. What sense does it make to join and then have a sex change and be in recovery for months and not be able to do the job you signed up to do? And the military pays for it too?
-
There’s an article that says that the DoD paid for an active duty member’s surgery for the first time ever and the decision was purely a medical necessity. Your disdain for a whole class of citizens speaks for itself.
-
It’s a necessity to change your sex? You can’t serve without it?
-
The guy who has the SRS in late 2017 already started things and the doctor said he had to undergo the surgery and that was that. This stuff is normal now. You’re behind times.
-
There’s nothing normal about it. Why should my tax dollars pay for anyone’s sex change surgery? Makes no sense. You want a sex change fine good for you. Do it I’m not standing in the way. But why should the military pay for it?
-
These things are irrelevant. Why or why not or what’s normal or what isn’t it. Fact is, the world doesn’t turn around you. Fact it all citizens are equal before the law and government institutions.
-
The world doesn’t revolve around you either. It also doesn’t revolve around tranny’s. You didn’t answer my question.
-
What question? I live in an industrialized country where people have free descent health care regardless and everybody’s allowed to join the military as perfectly equally citizen.

The US Military’s goal is to protect & defend our nation. Gender reassignments require months of time off. This leaves their unit short which if wide spread affects military readiness and mission success. Let them get their sex straight before they enter the services.
-
Besides gender reassignments are very expensive and the rate of suicides afterwards are higher than those who don’t have them. So do we want people undergoing all these major changes in our armed forces? Not until they get their sexual identities straight

Qualified means able to fight. If they are unable due to medical needs then they are not qualified as with any job.
-
We have trans soldier's fighting right now, and doing a damn good job There is also a retired Navy Seal, who is a trans.. Do you know what their medical needs are?
-
I dont care what they are if they cant fight then they need out
-
