The soft corruption of Washington is on full display this week. At the top of Republicans’ priority list? Not gun control. Not Dreamers. But weakening banking industry regulations designed to protect our economy. It’s unfathomable.

10 years after the financial collapse, big banks got bailed out and millions of hardworking Americans lost their jobs, savings and homes. It was the most devastating economic blow of our lifetime – and many families are still struggling to recover.

To make sure Wall Street’s recklessness and greed never harmed American families again, Congress and President Obama came together in 2010 to pass regulations on the biggest, wealthiest banks to help prevent another taxpayer bailout.

But now, Republicans are planning to vote to roll back those very regulations designed to protect every American – and our entire economy – from another crisis. Why? Because they’re indebted to special interest lobbyists and bending our government to cater to bank donors.

We can’t let this soft corruption go unchecked. And we can’t let Congress get away with putting taxpayers on the hook for the reckless dealings of the financial industry.

I’ll vote no on the dangerous bill being proposed, and I’m counting on you to speak up right away to demand senators keep these commonsense regulations on big banks in place. Let your senators know you’re watching. Show up. Spread the word. Don’t let them get away with it.

Because they will walk with millions, billions & during the next election cycle all they have to do is yell "a brown person wants a free sandwich" & the racists will pee themselves & vote Republican.

if dems really cared about American people they would have let the banks fail and helped individuals instead of greedy companies. "too big to fail" is an excuse and only those that willingly support banks over people don't see that.

It's to force more foreclosures and transfer of wealth/real estate to banks. It will be caused by easy money for home loans, egregious loan terms, followed by rising interest rates, jump in payments, then inability to repay loan due to new higher payment, then foreclosure.

I hope you are being as critical to the 16 Dem Senators who also voted with the GOP. If you are a true progressive, you cannot let them off the hook! They need to be called out more so than the GOP. It was shameful so many Dems voted yes for greed and corruption. #Shame #SellOuts
