As a representative of #NY12 and the first African American woman elected to Congress, Shirley Chisholm changed history – and her fight changed the world. I’m thrilled to cosponsor @KamalaHarris and @RepYvetteClarke’s bill to place a statue of Shirley in our nation’s Capitol.pic.twitter.com/Yodjzd3P2l

Shirley demanded her voice be heard, and it’s on us to make sure the world continues to listen. We owe it to the little girls of today and tomorrow to hold up her life as a reminder of what’s possible when you speak the truth and stand up for what’s right. #UnboughtandUnbossed

Kirsten, we grew up in the time of equal rights of men and women. You have to considered the grandfather clause. It's the future women you need to be fighting for. It takes time for change. When men learned there Behavior women were different then today's woman. Just go easy.
