Today, the Supreme Court begins hearing oral arguments in Janus vs. AFSCME Council 31, a case that is a direct attack on public-sector unions and our workers’ ability to organize to improve their wages and working conditions.

K Gillibrand: “rebuilding the middle class with good wages, safe jobs, and retirement and healthcare benefits, all of which will lift up our economy.” Wow, standing up for the middle class! Wait, what? Only union members? Why the inequality in your support? Delphi retirees = zero

I worked as a Social Worker and was protected by a Union for 34 years. Not only did the Union score us decent wages, they ensured we were treated in a fair and equitable manner. Their backing allowed us to advocate for the people we served without reprisals.

#UnionDuesEqualMoneyWellSpent#AgencyFeeEqualsMoneyWellSpent I think it’s ironic that those who claim it’s unfair to have to pay a fee for Union representation have no problem with the benefits secured for them.

Unions are pimps. They get paid a percentage of each worker’s check in exchange for pimp-like benefits. Protection and security for payments. They then use that money for political gains for the Union and not the individual.

Do you feel this strongly due to the $200+ million a yr for lobbying? How much do you get from that?

People should have the Freedom to not be forced to contribute to "unions" if they don't want to.

I have no problem with government workers being paid good wages with benefits, but the unions are making it impossible to get rid of the bad employees. If they aren't willing to change that, then I hope the Supreme Court votes against them!
