After this terrible tragedy in Parkland, we’re seeing the same thing from Congress that we saw after Sandy Hook, after Aurora, after Charleston, after San Bernardino, after Orlando, after Las Vegas, after Sutherland Springs: complete inaction.

I came from a hunting family and when I first came to Congress, I had an “A” rating from the NRA. But 9 years ago when I came to the Senate, I met with the victims of gun violence and listened to their stories.

The minute you meet a parent who’s lost a teenage child to gun violence, everything changes. From that moment, and for my entire service in the Senate, I’ve proudly voted against the NRA and have had an “F” rating.

Listening makes change. Learning from others’ stories makes change. That’s why it’s important that these courageous students are speaking truth to power. As I prepare to make our case to my colleagues tomorrow, I urge you to keep speaking out. Raise your voices. Call for change.

I notice that we’ve managed to make the halls of Congress safe without implementing any gun bans.

How will these votes save lives? All you are proposing is creating gun free zones all over America that will be as effective as the gun free zones in schools. THEY DONT WORK AND CRIMINALS DONT ABIDE BY THE LAWS ANYWAY!

The best way to keep kids safe in school is to end the moronic gun-free zones and have people on site trained to defend against the crazy people who would kill them. We have to end all this politically correct BS and follow common sense.

Then why are you afraid to actually do something? Government offices have armed security. Sporting events have armed security. Celebrities and the wealthy have armed security. Why are you afraid to secure schools?

@DLoesch More guns carried by law abiding citizens will make our schools, churches, and communities safer. When wolves abound, more sheepdogs are required to protect you and the other sheep. I know, we have teeth too, and that scares you...just eat the clover, all will b ok :) -
True story, before
#DanaLoesch banished me she used to use sheepdogs to kill of the coyotes at her home. The only problem was what the dogs we're killing. She actually just adopted a bunch of gerbels, soaked then in bacon grease and called them coyotes. Really fucked up.
