The #FAMILYAct would allow every American worker up to 12 weeks of #paidleave to care for a new child, a sick family member, or a personal medical emergency. The best part? Through shared responsibility, it’d cost workers and employers the price of a cup of coffee a week. #FMLA25

It’s wealth redistribution unless you make it opt-in. Another way to take more money from my wallet.

Only 12 weeks? That’s pitiful it should be a year I’m Canadian and you get a year maternity leave at almost full pay while some European countries get more .. I’m just saying “ the best country in the world “ should be able to do better for mothers and families

I’m not going to lie Canadians pay a little more in taxes but it covers stuff like healthcare and maternity leave in my opinion it is worth it because it is something everyone benefits from

I would rather extra taxes go for this than more bombs and Wars. But as a small practice I don't know how we would cover for those who are off. Very difficult to do in medicine

I’m not sure about the medical field I did work for a small business where we had people leave on maternity and we would either just hire someone else on a contract saying it was to cover maternity or just higher a part time person to help out till they came back

I would pay the price of two cups of coffee a week if it meant every mother who wanted to take 12 weeks of to be with their newborns could do so.

Stop worrying about 'paid leave' for marrieds' - married people should stop getting tax incentives, unmarried people/no children should get the tax incentives. Need reduce population to 2 billion. There are far more serious world issues to concern yourself with then paid leave!pic.twitter.com/6DnMkOT1zh

So, your theory is that the government is going to reimburse private business for the cost of their employees taking leave? How amusing.

It's part of NY State disability insurance policies. Like unemployment insurance. Private businesses and government aren't paying anything. Calm down.
