Yea, but what about the people who need pain killers to have a somewhat normal life? I have suffered from severe chronic pain for over 20 years due to a car accident. My doc is now refusing to give me an RX. We NEED these drugs!!!

You should not be punished for this ridiculous witch hunt! There are people fighting for the rights of PAIN PATIENTS. Many legitimate users of medications who are being denied their long term meds and can no longer function are committing SUICIDE! Very few turn to illegal drugs.

Thanks @YvetteJrif, I hope that someone comes up with a better solution. I have been in that place when you just need it to end.

Medicinal and recreation marijuana. Legalize. Simple first step.
-
The first step would be publicly funded elections so crooked politicians could get off big pharma’s teet
-
Anything more appropriate than restricing effective pain killers from people in need in order to reduce abuse.

Interesting how Big Pharma is killing people while marijuana never has, simply can’t by its makeup. And which one does the “angry elf” AG want to quash?

Why would they? Pharmaceutical companies make more money the more pills they shove at us. Pharm lobbyists pay GOP. It's a win win for the GOP!

Yet
@jeffsessions wants to go after medical cannabis. What a disaster. -
He and the GOP won't go after opioids because they make millions from pharmaceutical company lobbyists. They are all thieves.

I have neurosarcoidosis of cranial nerves primarily the Trigeminal. I am in horrific pain 24/7-365 for 17 yrs. This makes it harder for ppl like me who NEED opioids. Already fighting idiot Sessions to get MM so I can get off opioids. Get MM taken care of first, federally.
-
I'm right there with you. I too depend on my pain pills to have a somewhat normal life. Without them would cause me to turn to something else. No one who knows how we suffer would ever understand.
-
If MM is not legal in your state, can you try CBD? It's legal in every state and to buy online, helps incredibly with pain, and has zero psychotropic effects - meaning you can drive, work, care for children, etc while taking it. It's been a miracle drug for many of my clients.
-
MM is legal in PA. CBD does not alone help my pain. Not the point. MM needs to be federally legal so ppl like me do not suffer & can get off or cut down on opioids. Ppl need both. Dr's need to prescribe responsibly. Thank you though

-
Agree 100%. We have to do what we can with what we have in the meantime. Anecdotally, I'm recovering from surgery and CBD has been a lifesaver, allowing me to do limited work while housebound. It doesn't knock out the pain entirely but it's better, for me, than opioids.

It's imperative that someone in Congress be brave, and state and address the real issue is POLITICAL ADDICTION TO BIG PHARMACEUTICAL MONEY AND POWER. That would take true courage and integrity. I don't think any of you, male or female ever will.
