The Gateway Project has national and regional significance—and members of both political parties support it. A failure of the Hudson Tunnel, which is crumbling because of Superstorm Sandy, could have crippling effects on the entire Northeast region.

An important project of this size and scope cannot get done without help from the federal government. I'm very concerned about the Trump Administration's stance on this, and plan to ask Secretary Chao today to explain their position.

Since he is from NY, you would think he would no matter what, however, i honestly think this man could care less about any of us!

Like Dolt45 has ever taken the subway. Or a tunnel.

It’ll take forever to explain that “train” of thought to tRump.

The Port Authority charges $15 per car to cross the Hudson, and the roadways, tunnels, and bridges are in horrible disrepair. If they are not using the money to maintain the roads, they must STOP charging tolls! Otherwise,
@SenGillibrand and others should hold them accountable! Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

Also (though not your region), Michigan highways are falling apart so badly there are literally "pot hole hotline" signs on I-75.

Why didn't obama use the Bail out money
in his first term for infrastructure instead of everything but that!!?? - 1 more reply

Why is this a federal funding issue? You over tax NY residents enough to build highways from here to Mexico and back. Money grubbing snowflake

Sorry but you need to look beyond NY/NJ. More his needed elsewhere to save our infrastructure. I'm sure with what you tax the people of NY/NJ you have more then enough money to fix Gateway Project. Learn how to budget and spend your tax dollars the right way.

No,
@SenGillibrand only needs to look at NYS. She’s our senator. And as a New Yorker, I’m incredibly proud to call her my senator. That she sees the big picture for all Americans is something that cannot be said about DJT. -
So she is only there for NY and not the rest of the country? That is sad when we are dealing with the craziness that is trump and the gop. I would hope every Democrat in the houses would think about us all and not just the small percentage of voters NY makes up.
-
Small percentage? It’s the second most populous state after California. Small pop state is TN dude
-
Don’t know where you got your numbers from but Texas is behind California then Florida. New York is number 4 and guess where as you put it small pop state Tennessee falls number 16 out of 52. I don’t think that is that small.

Perhaps doing your job when Super Storm Sandy hit how many years ago. Democratic's under Obama did what to look into this. Now because it's an election year it's a major issue. Sad state of affairs. Change in NY 2018.
