Our country is in the midst of an opioid crisis and the AG is going to divert resources to cracking down on medical marijuana? This is either willfully ignorant or cowing to corporate greed on behalf of pharma special interest profits.

When did the GOP decide that state's rights were no longer their prime directive? By taking on the states that have legalized marijuana, he is clearly playing the roleof Big Government that the Republicans have traditionally detested. This is hipocrisy at its worst.
-
Republicans lose their minds when there is anything even remotely progressive going on. And when I say they lose their minds, I'm talking rapid, foaming at the mouth insanity.

Yeah, but that doesn't fill the prisons he owns stock in with black and brown people. And big pharma will NEVER let the full medicinal effects of MMJ to be shown, never, it would destroy them
-
If we have campaign finance reform it will be a lot harder, possibly even impossible, for private prisons or big pharma influencing him or any other gov't official, right? Why aren't we all talking about this all the time? Is it not the biggest problem with our democracy?
-
It is most definitely our biggest problem, as it leads to all of the other problems.

Purdue pharma knew Oxycontin was highly addictive before DEA approval, Purdue hid info so drug would be approved. They were fined 4 it, but made more than fine. Didn't hurt them.

I’m Afraid Senator Gillibrand there is way too much logic and forethought in this tweet to be of any reasonable used to the current administration.
@jeffsessions is an ignoramus and federal policy on marijuana is narrowminded and restrictive of research proving it’s usefulness. - 1 more reply

Absolutely. And let's not forget the for profit prisons who have a stake in lost revenue in jailing non-violent cannabis users.

Just learned that Biogen is raising the price of my disease modifying MS drug 8% this year because....it works. But by all means, please take medical marijuana away from MS patients who use it to deal with the disease

Good for you. It's also proof that this administration does not actually care about the opioid epidemic. Medical/legal MJ aids in the reduction of addiction. And the corporate interests aren't just Pharma, but also the private prisons the "drug dealers" will be sent to.

Private prison industry may have even more to do with it. They need those beds filled to capacity and kept that way.

It's a complete racket!

With all due respect senator, it’s you who can change the law to decriminalize marijuana. Please quit pointing fingers and get to work.
