We used to investigate first. It’s pretty easy to accuse someone. No one is confused about this. Al Franken is not a sexual predator. You. Got. Played. By. Roger. Stone.
But during that statement against Sen Franken you should have also called out the Congress to open investigations into the allegations against Donald Trump. He has been accused of far worse crimes by many more women than Sen Franken has.
Nice try, but your treatment of Franken, without so much as a peep against trump and Moore, shows you're putting your ambition over country. Franken didn't deserve what you did. You rallied these people. You have an agenda. You dropped the ball. Own the backlash.
Conflating all three of those is a disservice to women and men.
Cases where there is room for doubt or gray, due process must be allowed. You did not allow due process. You do not have my support.
You sacrificed @SenFranken & that was not okay. #IStandWithAlFranken
I would like to add that this sentiment should go far beyond sexual assault. It should apply to ANY criminal action by a public servant. Defending or ignoring criminal actions by a public servant because they are a member of “your” party is unforgivable and inexcusable.
Zero tolerance is not feasible when the topic is so subjective. And by conflating bad behavior with criminal behavior, you're not serving justice to victims of actual rape/abuse/pedophilia.
You also need to determine what's a plant from the real thing and not hold kangaroo courts as you did with Franken. You & your fellow female Dem lawmakers acted irresponsibly & like a coven or a lynch mob. Shame on you.
Have you seen the backlash on Twitter and ALL the FB pages? She trashed her career.
I certainly hope so. It was the last straw for me. I changed my party affiliation from Dem to Indy.
I hope you have no plans for national office because there's no way now I could, in good conscience, vote for you.
You have failed to make rational distinctions. As a New Yorker I will no longer vote for you.
As long as we are not falling into traps laid by conservatives
And we are. It's imposssible to maintain our place on the purity soapbox.
You shud've allowed Al his ethics review. He was no danger to his staff (they were in full support of him) & should have had chance to defend himself. Also, punishment shud fit crime. Resignation was unjust & will hurt women. #Franken2020
You lost my respect when you led the parade forcing Sen. Franken out. The initial accusation should have been investigated. How did Roger Stone know before it was announced? Should have waited for ethics investigation!
