This back-to-school season, my thoughts are with the teachers. Those who reach into their own pockets to make their classrooms home. Those who love students like family. Let’s speak up for them the way they speak up for our kids’ futures – let’s demand better pay for teachers.

Many teachers--especially K-5 and despite advanced degrees--only make working class salaries. Your plan for a federal jobs guarantee is essential. Here's my investigation into women's wages: Woman are the majority of the working class and working poor.https://www.damemagazine.com/2018/04/12/women-are-the-working-class/ …

Most public school systems are Democratically biased. Schools shouldn't be biased one way or the other so our children can be well rounded & choose for themselves. Go President Trump!

For a profession that most claim to love their job so much, they sure do complain an awful lot and are better off than most. You should pick a better battle. There are so many who need so much more.

Better off than most? What country do you live in? I have a Master's degree & have been working for the same "company" for almost 25 years and have reached a grand $54,000 per year. And millionaires complain about their taxes.

Just go to your local school district and donate supplies or money. Not hard to do at all. Doesn't have to be a big thing.

GILLIBRAND ON TEACHERS: We do pay for supplies, but if you’re really listening, the teacher shortage is due to conditions- from junk science tests/evaluations to the privatization/cherrypicking of charters, we need allies in the senate to support #optout + fix campaign finance

I’d like for my teacher friends not to have to spend a day training for an active shooter situation. It’s not what they do. They teach. This “new normal” is impacting some of our best educators in negative ways.

My thoughts are on all the lousy teachers in NYC in the rubber room being paid until a trial which takes place maybe in a few years because spineless politicians like you accede to the demands of the teachers unions to protect terrible teachers

Like the fool she is, she will vote no. But we will still have a Supreme Court Justice Kavanaugh on the court. The day RBG dies or retires is going to be interesting. You liberals are going to stroke out big time. Trump will pick a doozy to replace her.
