"No business which depends for existence on paying less than living wages to its workers has any right to continue in this country. By living wages I mean more than a bare subsistence level --I mean the wages of decent living." — Franklin D. Roosevelt

I'm a social worker... and still have to have 2 jobs ... can't even imagine how these people functioning... keep up the good fight Senator

Yep, I am also a professional working 2 jobs. 40-hrs a week just doesn’t pay the bills anymore.

"Let's renew our resolve to pass a $15 minimum wage, and shut down businesses everywhere."

I could pay my pt employees $15 an hour, but I have a feeling my ft employees wouldn’t be so happy to take a pay cut to make up the difference.

Another failed liberal idea. This was tried in Seattle. Studies showed that by forcing companies to over pay workers 15 an hr caused the worker to take less home each month. The emoloyers just dropped their hours to make up for the communist law forced upon them.

That won't help as prices will go up to cover the increase in cost.

It does help. There is precedent. Why do you have a problem with a living wage for working people? That is pretty sad.

If you're hiring people and can't afford to pay them a living wage, you're bad at running a business. Every worker deserves a living wage. Period.

Minimum wage did not keep with inflation. I had a 2 bedroom apartment while in college, making minimum wage ($4.35 hr/$275 mo.). Minimum wage is now $7.25 and that same apartment is $900 mo.

Let’s spread the wealth like you want to. All of Congress/government should only get $15 an hour in wages. No expense accounts either. No kick backs from lobbyists. Just reducing your pay and those of your coworkers will save the United States taxpayers millions
