Caring for one another is a principle this country was founded on. It’s why we have publicly funded roads and schools. It’s why we provide Social Security for seniors, health care for the vulnerable and food for the hungry. This is what America should strive to be.

People pay for their Social Security, it’s not a benefit it’s what our government owes our retirees. About 1/2 of the elderly have only SS to live on. Making a living, raising kids,college,mortgages..no money left to save for retirement. Now GOP will take even their SS away.

FDR told us we would have to fight every day to make sure the top 10% did not take away our ability to breath when we get old. Those who support taking from their future self must be made to see their elderly family. We all get old. Pensions die, ask Justice2 be Kavanaugh.

You don't "provide Social Security", you take it from our pay, and from our employer, and then dole it out at a return rate far lower than any other long-term investment would, and you tax SS recipients again when giving back they earned. It's a ponzi scheme.

What's wrong with you? The government doesn't "provide" Social Security to seniors, we're compelled to pay into Social Security. Why aren't you focusing on doing the right thing and paying us back the $2+ Trillion dollars congress owes the trust fund?

Seniors have paid into social security their entire careers. It's their money. It isnt "provided" to them.

Social security, medicare and Medicaid is a socialist plan. It works fine keeping seniors in less than poverty situations. 602.00 a month is not sufficient and take away 138.00 of that for medicare. Yeah seniors have it made.

SS isnt funded by tax $, its their money set aside. Everyone is free to set aside more if they can. You'd rather seniors have nothing?

Try again, they set the amount deducted based on your income. They set the date you can start drawing it out and how much. Every penny you put in they keep if you die before you can collect.

We provide it for everyone regardless if they paid in. The children whose parent died before they were adults, the widowed elderly housewife, and the disabled of any age regardless if they paid in, as it should.
