528 migrant children are still separated from their parents, wondering if and when they’ll see their families again. We’ve got to keep fighting for them for as long as they need us, for as long as it takes to get them back into the arms of those who love them.

Call your elected officials now to demand they reunite these children with their families. Call every day as many times as you can. Don’t let them push away the thoughts of how scared these children are. These parents don’t have relief, and Congress shouldn’t until they do.

Right, so let us start with this. Explain to them, ad nauseam, that it is illegal to cross into our country without going through the proper channels. Then get them parenting classes, since they knew this trauma could happen to their child. Families should be together.

There are circumstances in which it *is* legal for them to enter our country-- they present themselves to the authorities & file for asylum. They aren't coming for free food/welfare/jobs. They flee rape, torture, mutilation, sterilization, slavery, & death due to persecution.

Right, and if they do this correctly their children are not stripped from them. So what is the issue?

WRONG. They are doing this correctly and their children are *still* being stripped from them. They have even wrongfully detained US citizens due to racial profiling. Some were separated from their children.

So you are saying a mother, father and child come to our border. They ask for asylum. We say no, and they turn back to leave but then we kidnap them and split them up? I am just trying to make sure I understand what you are saying.

The way it is supposed to work is they come in seeking asylum. They are detained/housed together & provided legal counsel & have their backgrounds screened. After the vetting they are either accepted or denied- in the latter case they are allowed to appeal & go to court.

Thousands of Americans have been separated permanently from their loved ones because they were murdered by illegal aliens. Too bad you save your tears and outrage for foreigners with no right to be here. Reunite and deport.

The correct thought process SHOULD BE: They shouldn't have invaded our country. Coming into the US ILLEGALLY shall have certain consequences that you will not like. IT IS A CRIME.

Many of the families that were separated entered LEGALLY wile seeking asylum. They fled their own countries because they were faced with rape, torture, mutilation, sterilization, slavery, and death.

That's just plain BS. They entered ILLEGALLY. You've been watching far too much propaganda. Granted the situations they fled may be very bad, it doesn't give them the right to walk into the US illegally.

I studied immigration law. My father taught immigration law at FLETC and spent 30 years working for INS. I know the rules/laws. You are incorrect. It is legal for people to enter if they go to the authorities & file for asylum.

That is exactly how my wife and her family came into the US, went to a US embassy seeking asylum, took a year to be allowed into the US.

But there was an understanding for desperate people who dire situations. They used to look at the human factor. Also, I'm glad to hear that your wife and her family were able to get asylum.

That was a very long time ago. Times were different. If millions of people walk across a border, it is usually called an invasion. Isn't that what is happening now... just spread out over a little time.

It also does not excuse the detainment and denial of passports to legal US citizens-- people who were born in this country & now being treated with suspicion due to ethnicity. It's reminding me of the Japanese internment camps during WWII. It is not a good thing.

#TX25 house rep @RepRWilliams 2 wks ago: “We've done a pretty good job rebuilding the families back that we separated.”... Most Americans have a very different opinion of what “pretty good job” means. I’m voting for @JulieForTX25 so she can send Roger back to selling cars.
