We need to finally end the injustice against unbanked communities in our country. We need to pass the Postal Banking Act to give everyone access to the financial tools they deserve. We need to take this step to combat inequality.

They don’t have the infrastructure for this. It will cost millions to set up/operate/maintain. You going to make them provide ATMs as well? @USPS will lose even more money.

Yes, they want to bankrupt USPS under the guise of helping the poor. You found the actual vector, just commit to your instincts.

“Injustice” seriously?? Also what percent of population does not have a bank within 30 miles? Let’s not even bring up internet banking ?? Facts not politics please

It's not accessibility in terms of brick-and-mortar banks. She's referencing a population considered "unbankable" - unable to access formal financial services such as credit, deposit accounts, and money transfers and thus have to rely on informal providers of financial services.

So how do the illegals send so much money back to their countries of birth? Do they use pigeons or money transfers?

They buy money orders from the USPS. They are the only money orders guaranteed across borders. The ones from banks are not guaranteed. That's what my post office told me after watching a Hispanic man buy several.

You’re very smart, to believe what a postal worker tells you. 😂

Why wouldn't you believe a Postal Worker when inquiring about what happens at the Post Office? That's a solid resource.

Kirsten thinks that a certain demographic is not allowed to walk in any of the millions of banks this country has, one on every street corner, and open an account. She wants Post Offices to be banks, lending money to people that can't pay it back, funded with your tax dollars.
