Most of us in NY know someone who has been affected by Lyme disease. But President Trump refuses to address this epidemic, so we need to speak out. Will you call on Congress to fund research to stop this disease?https://petitions.signforgood.com/prevent-lyme-disease/?code=GillibrandTW061518&redirect=https%3A%2F%2Fsurveys.signforgood.com%2Fkg-2018-issues-survey …

Your are my senator. The country is going down the shit hole and you are tweeting about Lyme disease. I know it's an important issue, but could you please put it on hold while you work to topple the person in the WH who is destroying the US on virtually every front?

Put a bipartisan bill together that keeps these children from being removed from their parents and only that issue NOW! Override Trumps veto when it happens. You don’t have time to work out a “deal”, this is a administration made humanitarian crisis- just fix it 😖

As a Chronic Lyme survivor here on #CapeCod (Ground Zero), I have had to fight for every treatment for 2 years. This disease needs to be recognized as a pandemic yesterday! @USRepKeating has our back here in MA

While Lyme disease is bad, I wouldn't quite call it an epidemic.

Numbers aren't really adding up...1 million would be less than .3% of the population in the US considering there are 300+ million ppl. Guessing at future population and infection rates are simply estimates. I wouldn't exactly call it a pandemic. Bad, sure!

Not an epidemic. Numbers have increased as more deer and mice are prevalent in NYC and urban areas without predators. Also large estates like yours with lots of greenbelt. Inspect yourself and family for ticks, report signs and symptoms to doctors. We know what causes it.

Democrat policies create trash and animals with ticks are attracted to those areas. Makes sense 👍

@Keenatonko It doesn't feel like a Lyme disease kind of day? It is a Lyme disease kind of day for me and millions of others suffering fighting and dying. Nothing to be callous about.

@senGillibrand Lyme is the most controversial disease in medical history. What is Trump's stance on this controversial disease? His Ex Marla was diagnosed with Lyme at 22. I would assume he has some knowledge. Why hasn't Lyme been addressed? Do we need to involve #KimKardashian?

@Sapper1013 I have been fighting for my life with Lyme for over four years. This is no joke to me, or anyone with Lyme. I would not wish this on a single person. The bwhahaha is offensive, but thank you for bringing attention to Lyme disease.

@TrentFerrington The CDC admitted that they were under-reporting cases of Lyme disease. 300,000- 1/2 million new cases of Lyme each year. I say BS there are more unreported cases than 1/2 million. Epidemic? Pandemic.
