I’m a healthy guy. Don’t smoke, don’t drink in excess, not overweight. Should I have to pay for cancer treatments for a smoker? Should I pay for weight loss surgery or heart medication for someone who over eats, doesn’t exercise, and doesn’t take care of them self?

What about cancer treatments for someone who doesn't smoke, eats healthy and works out? Bad health is not a moral failing.
-
No but lack of
#empathy for other human beings IS a moral failing, an all too common one, especially in divided America.#EmpathyDay#civilsociety#leadership#innovation

Not when I have to pay for it
-
You pay for it one way or another already.
-
I don’t mind paying my own
-
How fortunate that you can afford to.
-
Fortunate enough that I have to bust My ass to work and I should give a portion of that to someone who doesn’t? You keep letting the Maple Leaf Government control you. I’ll control my own thank you
-
Bahahaha! ok.
-
So titan dad you would rather your “hard earned” tax money go to the already unbelievably wealthy rather than healthcare for everyone. Glad to see where your priorities are. The money was there and then realigned and you have fallen for the rich propaganda.

Absolutely correct.

Medicare only pays 80%. We need universal healthcare.
-
Absolutely! I’m Canadian and thankful for our healthcare system.

Health care IS a right. Because we have a right to life.
-
Tell that to all the babies that get aborted. Don't they have a right to life? You can't have it both ways.
-
You can't have it both ways either. If you force a woman to give birth, you better be prepared to pay for the health care that goes with it.
-
Healthcare does an aborted baby no good. You take away their right to life, you take that right away from everyone. It's either everyone's right or it is no one's right.
-
Except you would deny healthcare to the mother while she's pregnant and after the child is born. You, so-called pro-lifer, should be first in line calling for universal health coverage. But you aren't.
-
With the exception of rape, most pregnancies are avoidable with contraception. It's called being responsible for your own actions. Remember something, any right given to you by the government can be taken away by the government.
-
So, you support science based sex education and coverage for contraceptives?
-
I support personal responsibility, not government baby sitting. The government is not responsible for your personal life. Neither is anyone else. You are.
