We need to show we truly value women by addressing the tragic reality of maternal mortality. A woman in the U.S. is three times more likely to die during childbirth than in Britain or Canada – and it’s worse for black women. We have to fight for better care for new moms.

I agree Janet. But, the Dems are not the majority in control of Congress. If we want them to do something about this, we have to vote the Republicans out. Right now I've been bugging the crap out of my only GOP Senator to the point where he won't take my calls or tweets! :-)

Imagine if we all bugged our GOP Senators and Representatives...calling them, tweeting at them...telling them they need to hold Trump accountable, that we are watching their inaction, that we will lay the blame at their feet.

I agree with what you are saying... but first, you must address the Mad Man in the White House and do something NOW about our eroding American values. Trump is dangerous, and you must begin to speak out against him EVERY DAY until he is out of office.

I remember your campaign an public speeches about bathing children in clean water. Seems like a luxury compared to our great shame of 11,000 children in cages at the border. Perhaps time for you to stand up and be counted. Have you visited those children?

I just love we are supposed to have the best health care in the world but many people don’t have access to it. If you do, there are limits to how much treatment your damn insurance company will pay for. This country treats illness and really doesn’t worry keeping you well!

My sister in law (a nurse practitioner) nearly died this week after giving birth because hospital staff didn't take her symptoms seriously. She had to pull rank and tell them what to do. Imagine if she didn't have the knowledge and just went along with what they said?

So maybe there is an educational element that has nothing to do with gender? Could be applied to any condition. Gilli should stop hanging on the gender card.

The pro-life (anti-choicers) are preventing access to health care and resources and denying this health care based on pseudo-scientific and religious grounds. Tax them all and money go directly to a public health care system. They are guilty of contributing to those deaths.
