Trump nominees have been incredibly young, allowing them to reshape our courts for generations. Nine of Pres. Trump’s first 15 confirmed circuit court nominees, or 60 percent, are in their 40s. By comparison, only one of Pres. Obama’s first 15 confirmed nominees was in their 40s.

In order to stack the courts for generations, Republicans are dismantling a Senate tradition that ensures consultation and consensus with home-state senators. Through advice and consent, the Senate is meant to be a check on the president, not a rubber stamp.
