It’s downright cruel to intentionally separate children from their parents as a way to punish immigrants, especially those seeking asylum. This policy betrays our values. We can’t lead the world on issues of human rights if we’re taking babies away from their mothers.

The court system in this country separates parents from their children everyday. Illegal immigrants know the risks they know the law. Let Mexico give them asylum. #BuildTheWall

Senator, I agree. However, it is also cruel to ignore the will of 3.2 million disenfranchised U.S. citizens in Puerto Rico with watered-down constitutional rights. They've bled for our country but can't vote for their own President. That policy too betrays our values.

I’m curiosity as to where these separated children are being placed. If in a foster home, will the state foster care system be reimbursed by the federal government? Because foster care is not free.

Have you offered to take any in? Provide for them? Or do you simply like to tell others what to do?
