Fuel economy standards are the biggest step we’ve taken to combat climate change. Current standards are cutting our greenhouse gas pollution by nearly 6 billion metric tons. We all know what’s going on here with Trump and the EPA. He promises to pass laws to help huge companies make a few $Billion dollars for 20% Fee or more. Why else reverse laws that protects the planet and say it makes sense when it overwhelmingly does not.

Exactly. There is no common sense in putting policies in place that make cars get worse MPG. Whatever small tax break, if any, we recently received will not even cover the price of a decade or more of lower MPG costs. We have to hold tight to the higher standards!

Reduction of fuel usage also reduces CO2 emissions, and rate at which atmospheric CO2 level is increasing. Fuel efficiency thus does affect the rate at which the climate is changing.
