I'm dissapointed that you support legislation which will only put MORE women in danger by not providing them a safe platform. Sex work will not go away but congratulations on endangering the lives of women and lgbtq+ folks who do sex work for survival.

Why are you not listening to the sex workers who are telling you that shutting down Backpage puts them in danger? How can you say that this move makes sex workers safer when you have completely excluded them from the conversation?

No sex work is safe as do research. Most workers are underage & controlled by pimps. Girls as young as 11 or 12 are trafficked.

Supporting this legislation that enable this was short sighted, though not defending Backpage, but many other legal, free speech sites and publications have been shutdown as a result of this. This is similar to the War on Drugs, will result in making the problem worse.
