The bill we are considering in the Senate goes beyond targeted relief for small institutions. It would lift requirements for large banks in our country. The CBO says the probability of a large bank failing or another financial crisis would RISE if S. 2155 is passed into law!
I’m worried that my colleagues may have forgotten where the path of deregulation ends. I oppose this bill for the simple reason that it goes too far in weakening the protections we put in place to prevent another financial crisis.
Do u know @RepAlexMooney refinanced his house, defaulted on 2 mortgages causing both banks to take losses, purchased a new home and got a 2nd Mortgage all since 2012 with small banks & a credit union...and people want deregulation. Ask @MooneyforWV how easy it is to get a loan.

Why not reinstate Glass-Steagall Act? Bringing back the gold standard would probably help too. USA shouldn't let anyone invest large amounts of borrorowed and/or phantom $ and then make other's pay losses. This is not capitalism, it's fraud.
