Trump should get himself an AK-47, dismiss the Secret Service and defend the manor himself. Right?
Arming teachers is an utterly ridiculous idea that teachers strongly oppose. Even trained law enforcement officers encounter extreme difficulty in the face of a heavily-armed shooter.

Not all teachers oppose it. They should have the choice to exercise their RIGHT to self defence. I would rather face extreme difficulty than be a helpless target. The facts are facts, when the shooter meets armed resistance, they give up or shoot themselves.

I'm a retired California teacher (20 yrs. in Catholic School & 21 years in public school). I agree with you, Senator. The thought of even having a weapon locked up in a classroom is scary. This is a very bad idea.

As a mother of a middle school teacher, this idea is beyond ridiculous, dangerous and definitely does not solve the problem. Perhaps the leaders in DC need to spend sometime in a school and see how life really is for these hardworking educators. I have a heavy heart.
