My mom used to translate for Braceros on their day off while they were shopping in the little town of Carpinteria. She was one of very few locals who spoke Spanish.

The Mexican farm workers are not taking away jobs from our unemployed.I worked for farm labor contractor 15 yrs.They were well trained & in top physical condition. Most ppl couldn’t make it through an hour in that work. We need them and should respect them !
