Banning assault rifles is unrealistic. We should restrict ownership to police officers, military personnel and members of well regulated militias. Must take them away from anyone who is unqualified or a danger to the community.

Why, exactly, is banning assault rifles "unrealistic"? Because NRA nuts will be upset?

Banning assault rifles and high velocity ammo doesn’t impact your right to self defense or the second amendment. Tommy that was just a knee jerk statement with the emphasis on the second word

Those weapons are exactly what the second amendment calls for for your well regulated militia to fight enemies of foreign and domestic sources

They may not have taught this in all schools, but do you know the major reason young states wanted armed, citizen-soldiers (militia)? To round up escaped slaves and stomp down their rebellion. It's true! But don't trust me. Read up on it. Crazy stuff.
