Just one year into the Trump administration, Chairman Grassley has held a second hearing for a judicial nominee over the objection of a home-state senator, @SenatorBaldwin. I object to this decision in the strongest possible terms.
Democratic chairs of the Judiciary Committee have NEVER, EVER held a hearing for a judicial nominee over the objection of a Republican senator. A Republican chair has now held two hearings over the objection of Democratic senators in ONE YEAR. #CourtsMatter
You might do something more than object, strongly or otherwise. DO SOMETHING!
What do you expect her to do? In case you weren't paying attn, Rs hold the majority in both House & Senate. She's doing what she can, which is to object and raise awareness. You can help by getting out the vote for Nov. Only when Ds regain the majority will she be able to do more
Of course courts matter. The GOP knows this; it’s why they’re doing it. Their intention is to pack the courts with right wing scoundrels. They don’t give a rat’s ass about either justice or democracy; they only care about power & money. Dems should deal with them accordingly.
