My dad worked in the Civilian Conservation Camps before signing up for the army in 1942. Though the camps were meant as work relief for the unemployed it was a way to clean out our forests. Something like that would help now.

The only reason wind & solar are now inexpensive is because initiative was taken by gov'ts like Obama's. Subsidies were introduced that created demand. With demand, R & D in China was able to halve the price of solar panels, making solar farms cost-effective. Get it?
