As a teacher, I’m horrified the Times referred to it as a perk. The connotations are offensive. I didn’t become a teacher because of the perk of writing off school supplies I buy for students. That’s more salving the wound.

The standard deduction is doubled....... I am sure that more than covers the $250 perk

Stop filling our schools with illegals

The "illegals" you speak of make sure their kids go to school with all they need because they understand the value of an education. Educators spend hundreds to thousands of dollars a year on supplies for kids who have parents like you who seem to take education for granted.

As a California teacher, I resent the new GOP tax proposals that cuts deductions for ordinary people and increases deductions for billionaires on our backs.
