The opening bid from Dems should be much more aggressive. Ban all auto and semi-auto weapons for private ownership. You want to protect your home with a shotgun or revolver, or hunt with a bolt action rifle, go for it! Anything else, tough shit.

While I sympathize with the intent. There are legal weapons that could have been more devastating in some incidents. If you ban assault weapons, the domestic terrorists who go for what they know could learn the more deadly choices. Focus on the disease(s), not the symptoms.

As a progressive, it hurts me to disagree with other like minded people, but I think this list goes way too far. Banning all semi-auto pistols, as some have mentioned, is never going to pass. Ever. Limiting to 10 round mags. Never going to pass. Ever. I get banning bump stocks.
