United Farm Workers was founded by Cesar Chavez and Dolores Huerta in 1962 to address widespread exploitation of farm workers.
Farm workers toiled long hours for pennies a day. They worked in unsafe conditions, exposed to toxic pesticides. They lived in deep poverty.

Cesar said “enough is enough” and led one of the most morally-righteous campaigns in the history of our country.

Farm workers achieved increased wages, the right to unionize and health care benefits.
