It breaks my heart to hear that another horse died because of injuries sustained during the Breeders’ Cup at Santa Anita Racetrack. This year, 37 horses have died at Santa Anita, seven of those since racing resumed in September. That’s simply unacceptable.

Lots of people cool with horses dying in here

You shouldn’t comment when you’ve never spent a day in your life on the backside of a racetrack. We give up our lives to love and care for the magnificent horses. It hurts us more than anybody when one is lost.

With the increased reforms at Santa Anita and across the nation, the 77,000 humans who would be directly impacted by a ban, the countless homeless horses, and the enormous impact on the California economy, the horse racing industry has the horse’s best interest at heart. Always.

If you ban horse racing in California you ban the ability to give California racing a chance to turn around and make revolutionary changes for the industry across the United States. Shame on you.

I stand by this 100 %.
