As we battle wildfires across California, I thank my Senate colleagues for agreeing to provide additional resources. The funding package passed by the Senate yesterday includes $5.1 billion to fight wildfires, a $1.2 billion increase over last year.
Wildfires are getting worse due to climate change. We must keep doing everything possible to respond quickly, but we also have to take steps to prevent future fires. This bill ensures we’ll have increased resources to do both.pic.twitter.com/BfGP3F3x5o

Wildfires a getting worse because we have allowed communities to expand into wild land areas with no controlled growth requiring intensive structural protection We have had late fall winds for ever and most fires are man made either accidental or arson not Global warming.
How abt preventing deals where fed and state lands are sold to developers? Also look into past deals where this may have occurred before giving the OK to rebuild.
They are a lot of areas that are preventable. Build large rock gardens in vast areas where fires can "jump". Plant succulents . . .
