If you own a gun, you’re more likely to get shot than if you don’t own a gun. That’s a simple fact. Even using a gun for self-defense means you’re more likely to get hurt.

The mission of the NRA seems to center on boosting the profits of gun manufacturers, so it’s no surprise that they want as many guns as possible on our streets. But more guns don’t make us safer. More guns means more deaths, accidents and suicides.

I was in the NRA when I was 12 years old. At that time, the NRA was about Gun Safety and learning how to shoot. We used .22 caliber target rifles. That worked just fine. So what changed?

If you are the person in your Twitter photo, then you were 12 a long time ago (as was I). PACs and lobbying weren’t as big a part of their mission (or at least not obviously so) back then.

You cannot and will never be able to legislate the hearts and minds of people. People will kill with or without guns. You just want to take away the common citizens ability to defend themselves from criminals and make us reliant on the gov. Thanks but I’ll be keeping mine
