In the 15 years since the 1994 assault weapons ban expired, 490 people have been killed in mass shootings that have claimed six or more lives. It’s time that Congress not only debate but also pass a ban on military-style assault weapons and start saving lives.

There are MANY reasons. Which is WHY we have a Second Ammendment. We are to have the same capacity of weapons the Military has!!! That way if the government goes SOUR , “ like YOU and it already has”, we the people can defend ourselves, with the same Balance!!!!!!
"Military-assault style weapons" as you call them, are used in .003% of gun deaths. That percentage includes all semi automatic rifles.
Senator, please correct me if I am wrong - mass shootings are officially those shootings where 4 or more, not including shooter, are shot. Using your criteria vastly underestimates the number killed. Also, ffs, include number injured.

We‘ve been debating this for 13 years ! And we’ll be debating another 13 . I removed my kids from public schools so they aren’t living in a war zone waiting for congress to do something .
It’s getting to the ridiculous point where we also have to keep our children out of Walmart’s, shopping centers, restaurants, etc. Just get rid of assault rifles.
