Give the animals (any species) that are not being properly cared for to an animal clinic where they can be evaluated and cared for properly. Don't ignore their plight. A clinic can find a safe habitat for animals treated for any compromising conditions.

We DESPERATELY need a different, more protective legal status for animals. As it is, they're more property than anything else. I would even argue that animals should have independent standing.
