I live near Saratoga Springs NY and have never nor plan to ever attend a horse race

As a multiple horse owner, one of which is a former race horse, I concur. The track is very hard on these animals, they are given way more drugs than safe (or fair IMHO) and they are raced far too young, when their bodies are not yet developed. But $$ talks.

Senator I agree we should look into what’s happening at this track and it may need to be shutdown for the time being but one spot does not justify shutting down the whole industry, quit politicizing this tragedy

Horse racing is up there near circuses and shows with animals performing - unnatural and cruel. Hoping this is the generation all this nonsense ends. Preferably through lack of "demand" and consumers. But legislation is also fine.
