I suspect that people that fabricate guns are not the ones that use guns in a violent or improper fashion. Trying to control this would be as futile as trying to shut down internet pornography. Do some research, I suspect most guns used in violent crimes are purchased not built.

I am for better background checks, tracking of firearms sales, better competency tests (sane/rational people only) better gun safety training. However, pick your battles wisely, home made guns are not the problem, and registering every bullet is a futile effort as well.
