I see drivers on their phones all the time here in California, Senator. I wish someone would invent a way to prevent cars from starting if the driver's phone is on.

How many were caused by people not paying attention because they were consumed by their cell phone? Even those that are walking and talking are part of the problem.

Walked to & from work for years. Operators of multi-ton metal objects need to defer to walkers legally crossing the street w/signal (no phone, no talking) Several near misses within inches bc driver wanted to get in left turn b4 light changed. The same way I was eventually hit.
