The United States has now had the highest number of measles cases since it was first eradicated in 2000, and we’re only four months into the year. Vaccines remain the best way to combat this deadly disease. https://www.nbcnews.com/health/health-news/measles-cases-u-s-spike-highest-level-2000-n998146 …https://twitter.com/SenFeinstein/status/1120799047902744576 …

This year, we've seen the second-highest number of cases of measles in the United States since 2000 and cases have now been confirmed in LA. Vaccines remain the most effective way to combat this disease. https://twitter.com/lapublichealth/status/1120713358032793600 …

No we are not . We had the childhood viruses when we were supposed to and have lifelong immunities. The way it was designed to be.

Border security certainly would have helped starting a couple of decades ago Dianne. Thanks!

Now imagine multiplying the number of measles cases by 1000 and having them land on the southern border with an abducted child asking for asylum every week. Would that qualify as an emergency? Do your job. Protect Americans. Build the wall.

So who are the people with measles? Someone has to bring it in. Are those with measles regular US citizens? Why are they contracting them? Even of they are not vaccinated how are so many people around it? It doesn't make sense.

And given the way the measles works (basically eating the cells we use to remember our immunities to other sicknesses), other disease rates go up, too, after the fact

Thanks @SenFeinstein for addressing this public health risk. A great piece by @HalfSickShadows for vaccine hesitant parents on why we should all #betheherd and #protectourkids from vaccine preventable disease.http://bit.ly/vaxxmom
