One common thread that runs through mass shootings in this country is that family and friends are often the first to be aware that perpetrators pose threats to themselves or others. But too often, families and police have no power to act.
Our bill would help states establish a court process to allow that to happen. Already, 14 states and D.C. have laws allowing extreme risk protection orders. The federal government should support other states that want to follow their lead.
Tomorrow, the Senate Judiciary Committee will hold a hearing on these laws and my bill. This is a commonsense measure that would help keep guns out of the hands of those who would harm themselves or others. I don't understand why you geniuses in Washington cant understand the plain English of shall not be Infringed. Maybe you should try and make murder illegal before trying to shred the constitution, that we allow you to have power from.
Look see...we can agree on somethings. Now let's limit the scope of these Red Flag Laws to immediate family. That way our rights are not trampled on, by those who say that they are not after our guns. Or is that your intent, to circumvent the second amendment?

This is state sponsored theft w/o due process in direct violation of the 2nd and 4th Amendments. Don't public servants swear an oath to Support and Defend the Constitution? Or is this just until sworn in? All this is, is revenge. An assault on the rights of middle aged Americans.
how has this bill been shaped in light of the failed attempts to seize weapons resulting in death? how does the process perform it's job without violating a person's right to due process? how is representation for the individual of interest selected?
